Though this question has been discussed multiple times, I could not get it working in my setup yet. I’m afraid that I’m missing something rather obvious…
Setup
HA OS, latest version, running on Xen
Overall HA language set to English (GB)
User settings hard coded to 24h format
Browser languages set to English (GB), with explicit continental Europe date/time settings in both Firefox and Vivaldi
Steps so far
Followed this advice which changed the general nodes to 24h format, nice!
Open issue
KNX Ultimate remains the hard nut to crack, still displaying AM/PM.
The node is generally able to display 24h format as shown in various screenshots.
I get mixed messages on the solution:
This post implies that the locale of the container would need to be changed
Don’t think this is a viable option as it would require tweaking the underlying Alpine Linux (with potential unwanted side effects?) and probably be overwritten with an HA OS update?
And if so, I would assume that more users would be facing the AM/PM issue for various nodes?
I’ve seen hints that the time format is driven by the locale of the browser. However, I tried four browsers now (FF desktop and mobile, Vivaldi, Chromium) all set to English (GB), all with AM/PM instead of 24h.
Any ideas on where to look further or to solve this?
Did you ever contact the dev? The nodes status, what you see under the node, is hard coded to use the local time string. Without changing this for each node, there is no way to override it.
This is solely the code of the knx node. It has nothing to do with home assistant. You can open a new discussion on the github page and ask if they would add the option to use 24 hour time.
