Node-red and timezone

Hello,

I am starting slowly with HA, and is now looking at node-red for a couple of automation flows.

And now I have found something which I am not able to fix. It look as if node-red is getting the time from the host os - which is using Etc/UTC, on top of that the time is of some minutes (enough to bother me).

I got time_zone: Europe/Berlin in my configuration.yaml.

When I setup the bigtimer to trigger something at sunset (light), then it will do it 2 hours and about 10 minutes after it should take place.

How to deal with that ?

Thank you.

Set your long/lat here:

Cheers and good luck!

Thanks, but you gotta be joking (sorry).

I think this part of HA needs a work over, it should be possible to set a timezone which then control time for all components.

I’ll look at a different installation method where it’s possible to control the timezone for the underlying platform, as it should be easier than this.

Thanks.

Specific location is important when nodes use Sun position.

Good luck.

I have never used big timer, but if big timer needs your lat/lon then supply it.
Since I never used that node I have never had any issues. All time and date I have done has been correct.

Furthermore, Nodered is a stand alone project, unrelated to home assistant.
