Node-Red: Global Parameter Occupied

Hello everyone,

I am a complete beginner with hass.io and node-red. But my first thought was the following I wanted to create a flow/sequence, which checks if Me or my wife are in the house and then I can set a global state (in case it exists in node-red) which I can use for all future flows/sequences?

Two questions:

  1. Do you guys think that makes sense?
  2. Is there a good step by step guide which can guide the noob through this process?

If you create a group in HA for whatever device trackers you are using, the state of that group is the logical OR of its components. So as long as one tracker shows as home, the group is home.
