Node-Red restarting / crashing after "big event" (restore) (Philips Hue Bridge changed IP) [RESOLVED]

Hello All,

Just figured I post a solution to the result of a pretty big issue I had. Will spare you of all the details.

But after a full system recovery from backup to a new build HomeAssistant VM Node-Red kept crashing. After looking through Node-Red logs I noticed this entry:
[error] Error: Huejay: connect EHOSTUNREACH 172.16.2.194:80

And it turned out due to the rest of the issues I had my Philips Hue Bridge had recieved a new IP address through DHCP.

As soon as I created a DHCP reservation that put the Hue Bridge back onto its original IP Node-Red just started like nothing had happened and all was fine immediate.

There was nothing (yet) on the IP address used by the Hue Bridge previously. So the crash seemed to have to do with the bridge not being available.

I have found quite a bunch of mentiones of crashes on this forum and others. So perhaps some of these have a Hue Bridge to.

Hope this helps someone out there…
