NodeMCU1.0 with RC522 RFID Reader

After successfully flashing the ESP on the NodeMCU, I’m able to boot and load the interface to configure the settings in the browser for the reader. I’ve wired up the reader as suggested by Drzzs on his youtube video, and none of the tags I have register on the reader.

Is there a way to confirm whether or not the RC522 reader is dead or not?

The reader wasn’t in fact dead. After adjusting the range of the sensor, it works…but still struggles at times to read chips. Still have wave the tag around the 1" mark for a few seconds before it takes.

Might try a Wiegand reader instead.
