NodeRed : automatically update Home Assistant entities ID

Hello !

I’m using NodeRed and love it !
But there is still one minor downside using it with Home Assistant : when I rename entities ID in Home Assistant which are already used in Node Red flows there are not updated automatically in NodeRed. I guess there is nothing to do about that, right ? except renaming entities before using them in Node Red …?

A slightly quicker way than all manual renaming is to export the flows to text and do a search and replace then import again.

Nice Tip !

But I have many tabs, and several flows per tab. They are all grouped by logical function but I still sometimes use light entities in heater control flows or so on.

But that’s still a nice starting idea to use the text export. I could at least export everything to text and count or locate the occurences…

Just export it all and (save it), then on a copy search and replace, delete flows from node red and import.
If it failed then use the backup you saved when you exported.

Ah! I’ve never really used the Export function, much more often the Import one. Did not know it was posible to export all.
