Non-existant /etc/systemd

I’m sure I’m just not understanding this correctly, so I hope someone could explain it.

I’m running Proxmox 8.1.3 with HAOS (2023.12.03) in a VM.

I have 1 proxmox node named “proxmox-shop” at 192.168.0.28

Under that node, I have:

  1. 100 (haos) at 2 IP addresses: 192.168.0.103 and 192.168.0.162
  2. 102 (NUT) running Debian 12 at 192.168.0.233 (DHCP)
  3. 101 (debian) at 192.168.0.236 (DHCP)

Here is my question:

I can SSL directly into the HA VM and I get this prompt:

[core-ssh etc]$

If I “cd /etc” and “ls” I don’t see the “systemd” folder.

Same result if I use the HA add-on: “Terminal & SSH”

If I use the “Console” facility of Proxmox or the , I get the prompt:

ha >

I see from another thread that if I type at this prompt:

login

It brings me to a prompt:

#

from there I can cd /etc/systemd

  1. How do I access /etc/systemd from an SSH session

  2. Can someone explain what these different types of logins/access-es and different prompts are?

Thank you.
