Hi everybody
It seems that there is a lot if implicit knowledge regarding Lovelace. I myself is not a skilled developer, but dazzle a little.
Could someone please explain the following
- Does the ui-lovelace.yaml replace configuration.yaml
- Are groups.yaml still used
My setup is divided, so groups.yaml are used to get the UI I want. Can I still do that in Lovelace ?
To summon up, could someone please explain what files are still used and what is moved to the ui-lovelace.yaml
Thank you.
no, not at all. ui-lovelace.yaml is JUST the views to the data. configuration.yaml is still needed to connect your devices.
Not for display on the front end.
You can convert your groups.yaml to lovelace using the script provided in the documentation.
Just so you are aware, all the knowledge I have from Lovelace, comes from the documentation.
Thanks, but its not that obvious in the documentation.
Also, I can’t use the script, as my Homeassistant is running in a Synology Docker. Hoping that someone will make an online converter. Kind of like the doc to pdf online conversion.
