Notifications of Replies in this Forum to HA

So, I must be really dense today…and all other days.

Question(s):

a) I don’t see a way to generate notifications for replies in this forum. Am I missing something?

b) Is there a way to integrate message counts or notifications to forum posts in this forum into Home Assistant as a sensor?

I also would love to see a notification/message counter in Home Assistant.

Unfortunately, the notification file is accessible only when you’re already logged in. I tried accessing it with curl -u, using my username and password, but it does not support HTTP authentication. Your second link mentions API keys, but I don’t see how to generate it on the forum. I’m not even sure the forum provides an API …

It sounds like the ability to get an API key is turned on by default, but there are some hoops you need to go through to generate. Maybe there should be a feature request to create a discourse integration.

I’ll take a chance and request that they provide an option to create API keys for this forum.

I would too be interested in this but getting an API seems hard work…?
