I’m thinking of getting the NSPanel, but i have a few questions for the ones who already have it (especially recently)…
what is the difference between he eu and us version? checking out the website, the size (for the back) is the same, the wiring for the lights are the same, the input voltage is the same. The only difference i can see is the screen is bigger on the us version. Is that the only difference? obvioslly a bigger screen would be nicer but dont want to buy it if it wont work.
the other question is, on a reply on youtube about the standard nspanel someone said the new version comes with home assistant so it doesn’t need flashing. Can anyone confirm this?
Ive seen the nspanel pro supposed to have HA integration, but the review i saw said not to bother as the HA integration, as well as a dozen or so other features that it claimed weren’t actually available and were ‘coming in the future’.
You sure about that? Typical us line is 110vac/15-20A. While EU is 240vac.
Remember it’s not just the power for the device these things also switch and therefore have to pass code compliance (at least here in the states) there’s zero way id be mismatching that… Not to mention the US and EU versions are sized to fit thier typical box openings as well
yep. their site has the same size for the terminal box - 49mm (59.5mm diag). its showing the voltage as auto-switching between 100 - 240v on both versions
But I’ve just noticed looking at it in closer detail that i missed the first time. the fixing holes for the US are 83mm centres whereas the eu ones are 60.3. so looks like they’re exactly the same other than the fixing holes (and the screen size obviously). so it will fit in the UK boxes by the looks of it, but wont be able to screw them into place. so too much of a safety issue, unless i silicon them into place to hold them on the wall via the larger back panel, or i try to pickup some us backplates of course haha. oh, actually, the US versionallows for the landscame/portrait screen too, so can drive some screws through the fixing holes (obviously not in portrait as I’ll elecrocute myself lol). I may try one for the living room to benefit from the bigger screen. not decided yet.
have you seen anything about having HA integration on the newer ones? I’m wondering if the commenter on youtube was confused and actually referring to the pro panel rather than the standard.
just noticed you said that too after i posted. but yes after closer inspection the back box fixings are different sizes, but seams like everything else is the same.
based on mass produce manufacturing i cant see them making 2 versions so different . common sense says the workings are the same along with software etc as it saves manufacturing costs. all they would do is put on a us version panel or a eu version. the EU also uses 220v not uk’s 240v so the 100-240v again makes sense to cover a wider voltage range.
