I’ve got:
NSPanel Pro
f/w 2.2
Upgraded to Seakys webview 108
Fully Kiosk Browser
And the performance viewing HA lovelace is awful, even a simple dashboard with 4 tile cards takes maybe 30s to load and another 30s to load the icons, then presses are slow and unresponsive.
I’ve done a speedtest from the device and it gets a respectable 38Mbit/s - i.e. i don’t think its the devices WIFI causing the issue.
I can’t believe if this was the real performance, others here wouldn’t be complaining, so am I missing something?
I can confirm that the responsiveness of my nspanel (updated to 2.2) is the same as seaky video. I’m using HA app. Are 6 months that is installed and still going strong
Just to make sure to everyone - to get adb access you dont need to open the panel or trigger repair mode or watever. It is possible to activate developer mode from the app, but if it doesn’t work in your version of the app - try 4.29.0 (download it on apkpure or anywhere). It works for any Sonoff firmware version.
I also found that if you cannot install APKs on your Android device (in my case due to corporate policies from my work profile) you can install it on Windows 11 using this process https://www.androidpolice.com/windows-11-apk-install-guide/
Hi, i know this post is pretty old, but did you ever get it working? I’m trying to use the NS Panel pro as a screen for my Video doorbell and i want to push a notification to it with a clickable link to the cameras or to unlock the door.
Sadly this isnt working, because I dont get the popup notification, just the sound. Did you ever find a solution to this?
I use the NSPanel as a chime (HA notification service) and to show the last event image of the camera (via browser_mod).
Since i use the companion app minimal version, I tried the notification command “command_screen_on” but it doesn’t seem to do anything, it doesn’t wake the screen when someone rings. The app has every permission possible.
Is there any other option for me to force wake the screen?
Edit: Well I found a way that just seems to work for me.
I’m using ADB to send a wake screen command (adb shell input keyevent KEYCODE_WAKEUP) to the device when someone rings the doorbell. Works really well so far!
I bought long ago nspanel pro for my little project in HA.
Wanted to use fully kiosk.
my firmware is 1.4 what is the best way nowadays to use it?
Shall I use blackadder method and open the nspanel?
Shall I use seaky tools and upgrade to 1.7 and use adb via wifi?
I used the Black Adder version and like everyone else got the no memory error.
I then followed the alternative method above and it worked BUT … Automagic is no longer available. The site is dead. Not just me there is a Redit page about it .
So I installed Home Assistant anyway and all was good - however … on reboot I just get the Sonoff Logo.
I can reset and do it all again - but I dont know what AutoMagic does and given I have missed out a step It is possible that this is the cause of the issue
So
What does Automagic do ?
Does anyone have a copy of the APK please as there is nowhere on line i can find it
Can anyone send tts notifications? I’m on 1.6.0 with 109.xxx updated webview, updated googletts and have a media player generated from browser mod but even though the command is sent, no tts speach is reproduced…
I’ve just followed your instructions @Filya75… the device installed the default firmware or whatever it does (was written in Chinese!!), when it finally restarted I kept giving the adb devices -l command, but nothing showed up… I did it continuously… Then it just returned to the chinese QR tag… any ideas?
