Nut mini alternative?

Hi all, I was wondering if someone could recommend an alternative to nut mini bluetooth beacons.

I’m currently using them on our keychains as a way of determining if someone is home or not home. Coupled with monitor they’ve been working great with the exception of battery life. I’m only getting a month or two out of the batteries before they die and need to be changed out. This is far too frequently for my liking. I’d like them to last 6 months minimum.

I did some searching already and found BlueCharmBeacons to be a very promising alternative. Unfortunately they do not ship outside the USA (I’m in Canada). Can anyone recommend other options? Update frequency and transmit strength do not need to be very high.

I use the Nut Minis as well and for me the battery lasts around 7 months. Did you pair them to your phone first? I never paired mine with anything at all, I just let them advertise.

Nope, no pairing. I just installed the battery and found the MAC address from monitor’s output log. The minis will randomly beep for a couple minutes every so often for no apparent reason. This is likely a big drain on the battery but I don’t know what’s causing it and how to stop it.
