Nvidia have released a new dev board that looks really nice!
It’s not released yet but what would the chance be that hassio would work on it or maybe create a version for it?
Just to have the opportunity to run your AI calculations local would be great.

Nvidia information page: https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/autonomous-machines/embedded-systems/jetson-nano/
very interested on this board too.
also if it could boot from USB 3.0 it could rely on fast storage by an external SSD.
Looking on website it runs linux hence should not be difficult to run homeassistant.
according to this:
A57 (Jetson) shoud offer twice the performance of A53 (Rpi3) per Mhz which means Jetson should deliver twice the performance of Rpi3.
I am not an expert though hence this could be wrong.
For sure Jetson would be great to handle camera and object/person recognition
Just seen a review on Youtube and then naturally came to the forums
If you ran that over a RPi3 then the performance boost for a simple setup would be phenomenal.
Rpi4 sadly only coming next year and when it does I think they are really going to need to up the specs.
If you need overkill performance just get the newly released Odroid-N2.
It uses 64 bit ARMv8 as well.
All;
I built hass on a jetson nano. Rough directions:
- Install ubuntu per the nvidia image: https://developer.nvidia.com/embedded/learn/get-started-jetson-nano-devkit
- Install hass using the generic linux instructions here: https://www.home-assistant.io/docs/installation/raspberry-pi/
To do: see if it’s possible to boot the nano on a USB SSD rather than the sd card.
How has the performance been so far?
