Can anyone telll me the difference between a NVM Backup, a nodes.json
Backup (both in ZWave JS) and a HA Backup ?
NVM is the data your stick needs to talk to your ZWave devices.
Nodes are ZWave JS’s view of the ZWave network stored on your stick and all of the information that JS has about it.
Between the two you can recover a ZWave network if you have the NVM and ZWave keys
Nodes can be rebuilt
HA backup has all the information Homeassistant has absout your configuration. It may or may not include the ZWaveJS nodes information depending on your installation method and ZWaveJS/JS_UI configuration.
Keep a current NVM every time you do major ZWave network updates and keep a current HA backup always.
Thanks !!!
When I click on Backup in NVM Management a box opens to inform me that Zwave will not work during backup, but I do not see where the backup is saved. When I click on Restore it opens the download folder of my computer but there are no files. However, in ZWave JS, Advanced Actions, General Actions, Backup, I can export a file named nodes.json. Is that the backup of my Zwave network that can be restored ?
My NVM backups are saved to my Downloads folder (or whatever folder you last downloaded something from your browser).
The filename is NVM_YYYYMMDDHHMMSS.bin
That helped a lot and I found the download in another folder.
