Observation: Assist Microphone

This is just a little observation, possibly it will save some people from wasting hours of their life (just like me) and maybe it is also something for the developers to look at.

I tried to run the whole Voice Assist setting on a NUC with an Anker Powerconf connected to the front USB.
Despite everything looking good (Wyoming running, piper and whisper working, speaker showing up in the settings) the speaker did not react to the Wake Word (OK Nabu).

Until I replugged it from the yellow front USB port of the NUC to upper back USB port.
After a restart it reacted immediately without further tinkering with any settings.

I am happy that it works but somewhat anoyed by what seems a rather strange behaviour.

But as I said…maybe it saves someone from the same experience…try different USB ports!

This is very confusing. Are you running home assistant on a NUC or a yellow?

You seem to use the two interchangeably.

Hi Tom,
NO, when I wrote yellow I meant the yellow coloured USB port (permanently powered I think).
All this is happening on the NUC.
