Off Site device in home Assistant (cottage control)

HI Everybody,

I have a reliable Home Assistant installation at home (Montreal). I also have a cottage that I just installed fibre optic internet, but it rely on Solar panels and Batteries for electricity.

I would like to install some relay and temperature sensors in the cottage, but since the energy is counted, I don’t want to have a complete home assistant installation at the cottage, I would like to use my Montreal computer to control the devices.

All my Montreal devices are Zigbee, Z-Wave, Tasmota or ESPhome.

Is there a way to integrate Tasmota or ESPHome flashed devices at the cottage (NodeMCU relay and sensor) to my Montreal home Assistant computer using the internet?

Would a second installation on a Pi be to much energy. I know there is a way to link to HA instances together. If you had enough energy for the Pi I would think that route would be the simplest.

I do have a spare Pi. other than the energy, it’s the maintenance of two system that I want to avoid has much has possible. I’m trying to do a VPN so my home installation and cottage will be on same network… for now no success.
