I did have high hopes for these things, but they just didn’t work for me. I placed the traps in a drop ceiling that was probably 20 ft at most away from the router with a stud wall in between. I don’t feel like that would be an incredible distance for signaling. The batteries were brand new. I was aware of the 24 hr reporting thing…and they were dropping out of the app, not even home assistant at that point…so i really don’t know, I just didn’t have a good experience at all.
Currently I’m pursuing trying out Elexa Dome Mouse traps, so far they have come with it’s own challenges with z-wave and using an Aeotec dongle, but once i get it set up correctly i feel like it will yield a better result. I already like the sensor reporting that show up in the integration. But there is little to no documentation on what things mean or do for the integration; which i find a little frustrating.
