Old automations showing up on fresh install

At one point I had setup an automation to turn a light pink and notify my phone at 5:30pm local time via node-red. One day that notification started also triggering at 9:30am and I could not track down the reason for why this was occurring, I tried everything I could think of before finally just reformatting my SD card and starting with a fresh install.

Unfortunately, on a fresh install of Hass.io with no addons/components setup other than duckdns and my hue lights to see if the light still changes color, the automation is still running.

I thought it might be something related to the iOS component, but that was not setup on this most recent test and I still had it occur.

Anybody have a clue as to what could be causing this? Could HA have something stuck/cached on a server that is tied to my IP/username and therefore gets triggered regardless of my fresh install?

Are we sure a “fresh install” deletes everything on your SD card, including the /config/.storage directory?

Most likely the config directory didn’t actually get wiped / formatted and just re-installed the core of HA. It will just pick those configs up again.

When I said “fresh install” I meant two different SD cards that were both reformatted first. I did that to take care of situations where there were persistent files from the previous install.

I have experienced in the past with other stuff that weird things happen to my wifi connected stuff when my neighbor is also playing with their own wifi connected stuff.

One other thought… have you reset your Hue Hub? Could it have cached your automation?

I tried a couple more things including resetting the hue hub with no luck. Deleting my duckdns domain and creating a different one got rid of the issue. Thanks again from the suggestions though!
