Olimex ESP32-POE-ISO as bluetooth proxy - Questions

Hello all! I am currently using a couple of M5Stack Atom Lites as bluetooth proxies.
But my understanding is that the Olimex ESP32-POE-ISO is a much better option because it uses ethernet and has a physical antenna.

  • Is the ESP32-POE-ISO considerably better than the M5Stack Atom Lite? Better/stronger range?
  • Could I expect noticeably faster BLE interactions using the ESP32-POE-ISO?
  • Do you have to use POE for ESP32-POE-ISO, or can I connect non-POE ethernet and then power by USB?

Probably slightly better, I haven’t noticed a real world difference.

PoE is not required and it can be powered by USB while using ethernet for data
