One-off automation request

Hey guys!

I’ve used HA for many years and I’m very satisfied with it so far.

If I can set up an automation that runs for only one time and then delete itself.

Here’s an example like Scheduler

Blueprint to create an automation that runs once then disables itself (there’s no available service call to delete an automation).

Wth: one shot timer

If you’re interested in using an Automation Blueprint, here are two examples: One-Time Scheduled Action The first one looks like this: [image] It allows you choose an action (or more than one action) and the time when it should be performed. The resulting automation will trigger at the scheduled time, perform the action(s) you specified, then disable itself.

Can you describe your use case?

“Hey Home Assistant, turn off the porch light in 10 minutes” (because I’m about to leave, but don’t want to turn it off immediately).

Sounds like you want to set a timer and have a permanent automation that runs when you start the timer. Setting the timer length by voice is not supported as far as I know, but that seems to be a more feasible feature request. Or more general: a delayed voice command.

If the delay is always the same, you could simply ask to run a script that starts the timer.

That sounds like a script to me as well.
