Just installed the Wyoming Protocol and Piper and tests are going well. However, I can see on the Piper documentation page I should be able to specify other voices, but they don’t work nor do they appear in the dropdown when setting up a new Voice Assistant. What did I miss or what do I need to do to pull in more voice options?
I believe, you first need to change it on piper add-on config to a different language and you will see the updated value on assistant page.
I was interested to see @fischgeek 's question because it may be something I had wondered about. This may not be @fischgeek 's question but:
You can have multiple voice assistants each using different parts for Conversation Agent, STT and TTS. If you use HA Cloud for TTS you can select between multiple voices. However, if you use Piper you only have one choice of voice accross all your assistants - that is, the voice you chose within the Piper add-on configuration.
I would have hoped that you could choose the Piper voice when configuring the voice assistant within Settings > Voice Assistants >
This was it. Thank you kindly.
Hi, please take the time to mark the answer as solution, you do that by selecting the three dots under the post:
