Opening home-assistant_v2.db with file editor shows: 'utf-8' codec can't decode byte 0xf6 in postion 27: invalid start byte

Hello out there. After endless searching on the Internet, I have to ask a question here again and hope someone can help me.

When I try to open the home-assistant_v2.db with the file editor, I only see a line with the following content:
'utf-8' codec can't decode byte 0xf6 in postion 27: invalid start byte

Question: Is this just because (as I now know) you can’t open the DB with the file editor? Or is there actually a problem with a character in the database?

If you really want to be sure, use this add-on

Thanks for the tip. I searched a copy of the database with DB Browser for SQLite. Couldn’t find any errors, I hope I searched correctly. Is there a specific command that can display UTF-8 errors in such a tool?

That file is binary. Opening it with a text editor will give you meaningless output and errors.

Thank you very much, so there is no need to worry?

I got also this error and I am sure everyone will get this error.
UTF-8 is a format for documents. The database is not a document and has his own format. You will get similar errors when trying to open not-document files.
