I have been using openVPN to connect to my home network (i do not forward any ports anymore ). I have number of apps working fine however what I have noticed with HA app is that when I’m connected via OpenVPN to my home on LTE or public wifi hotspots the app no longer conects. Funny thing is I can get the lovelace interface up via safari. Any other WIFI networks outside my home connect fine through openVPN.
What is going on? Is something blocked by mobile provider / hotspot wifi? I was thinking of chaning the default port 8123 to somthing closer to 80 since I’m on VPN anyway. thoughts?
