OpenZwave Beta Migration

I’ve been running HA for some time and while everything works great, I’ve got a bunch of orphaned devices/entities/whatever that I can’t remove for whatever reasons. Since my config is pretty stable now I wanted to migrate to a new HA install just to get a clean start.

My question is with this new install, am I OK to start with the OpenZwave Beta right from the start assuming all my devices are supported? If I’m running the beta, when it comes out of beta is there any reason why that wouldn’t just be a seamless upgrade?

TIA!

I ended up spinning up a new HA instance on an separate machine, moving the Zwave stick over, and excluding/including all the devices on the new machine using the OpenZwave beta.

Question, why did you have to exclude them? Wouldnt your zwave network be bound to the controller (usb stick?)

Im thinking of rebuilding my HA in the near future, and am very curious.

Using the same Zwave stick, the devices showed up in OpenZwave and appeared in HA, but none would actually work. I didn’t feel like debugging it and I had few enough devices that doing an exclude/include wasn’t a huge deal.

I could certainly have been missing something, but that’s what I did.

Fair enough!.
