Order of items with default view

Good Evening fellow HA users, I thought that when you turned on default view the order you put in your items is the order they appear on the dashboard? order was from left to right correct?

kind of like this for entry order?
1 4 7
2 5 8
3 6 9

is that right? Mine just don’t seem to be in the right order

Not unless you have used the order command in customize.

From my customized.yaml…

group.default_view:
  order: 1
group.second_group:
  order: 2
