For the OTP sensor (ie meant for putting other 2FA codes), each code refreshes every 30 seconds and the old codes are still “stored” and have history.
As the old codes are no longer relevant, would it be possible to have a setting which purges history every X hours (let the user decide)?

Just exclude the entity from recorder.

Unfortunately it is not possible to programmatically exclude the sensor value from recording, you have to do it by excluding it in the recorder configuration.
