Owntrack https to HA in Synology docker

Hello,

I’m using HA in a Synology docker and now i want to use the owntrack http.

Reading the docs of owntrack_http,

https://home-assistant.io/components/device_tracker.owntracks_http/#configuring-owntracks-to-submit-data-via-http

I dunno exacly which will be the configuration (port) in the URL of my app Owntrack. because looking the logs int he app, i can see “Error An SSL error has ocurred and a secure connection to the server con not be made”.

First of all i need to configure connection to HA by https?

thanks

Have you tried http instead of https? I’m not sure that owntracks requires ssl.

I assume you can access homeassistant from outside your home on port 8123 so owntracks http should use the same port.

Hi @andrewdolphin,

I tried, using http, and at the end worked.

thanks,

Hi,
I know that this thread is very old, but i’m wondering: is it safe to use owntracks with http ?
Is there a way to use it with https ?
