Owntracks is not showing exact position on the map card

Hi there,

I have an issue with Owntracks, as I want to display the location of my child’s mobile on the Map Card.
I did install the app on the mobile phone, as well as the integration (It gave me the URL to put on the mobile phone app), and the location was displayed correctly at that time … but today for example my son went school this morning the the map still shows location of yesterday evening, home, when I had setup the mobile phone.

What can be wrong here ?

P.S. also is there a way I can find back this URL which was given to me when I had setup the integration ??

My findings from >1 year ago …owntracks is not reliable on updating. I tried using it too as the companion app was also not reliable but after a few weeks I removed OT again as it was not any better than the companion app itself. It works fine when OT is active but not from a background-app perspective

What are you using then now ?
Would companion app be ok, even if the app is never opened on the mobile phone, for example ?

for Owntracks, I am wondering if it is not mandatory to have it opened constantly with “Notification” enabled to allow a backgroup processing and therefore updated data on HA …

I use indeed the companion app, with background active and high accuracy but not updating high frequency (save battery a bit), android version lets you set a lot of things, the iphone-version a lot less…it is ‘ok’ (much better than 1+y ago)
