P1-port data as a replacement for Fronius smartmeter

I’m finalizing my solar project and just installed a Fronius Hybrid inverter without the Fronius smartmeter (due to lack of space & re-certifcation). My standard digital meter has a P1-port which I use to monitor the power and gas consumption.

Is it possible to use the available P1 readings to control the Fronius Hybrid Inverter (combined with home assistant) to optimize energy flows ?

Having the same idea, did you find a solution yet, I found Fronius Modbus Integration - #27 by redpomodoro and wonder if this together with ha could avoid the need for the smart meter…

It seems that that is to Control the Battery, I managed to Create a fake modbus ip device providing the values from ha via rest API ( at least for production/usage) and that seems to work, inspired by a fronius modbus simulator found online, maybe we should Create a generic sunspec modbus device Integration that can use data from the p1 meter or others?
