I have 80 Flic buttons just sitting around right now that I’d like to connect to Home Assistant using a Bluetooth proxy via ESPHome.
I already have 3 devices proxied, and since it’s on a Raspberry Pi 4, I also have its own Bluetooth controller as well.
I was wondering how I’d connect these buttons directly to Home Assistant. I think I put them in pairing mode, but I’m not sure how to know (been too long), and I also don’t know how to tell the Bluetooth proxy system a device is connected.
Side question: when using the Bluetooth proxy system, can devices roam between different Bluetooth controllers as if they’re all one big Bluetooth antenna like Wi-Fi?
I used to use these Flic buttons with my own custom software and a bunch of Raspberry Pis around the house. After I got Home Assistant and a Skyconnect, I swapped to cheap IKEA Zigbee buttons, and I’ve never looked back.
I still want to find a use for these. Buying 80 of them wasn’t cheap.
