Parrot's Flower Power

Hey there! My skills are too poor to look into this but I think this would make a great addition (especially because of the light sensor…) http://developer.parrot.com/docs/FlowerPower/

Good Idea, I might look into working on this over the next few weeks.

Hi,

I would like to get this working, Although I just connected the Xioami flower sensors into my home assistant as there is already a bind and they are above 1/4 the price of the parrot… anyway

if someone get this right, I would love to use it…

Thanks

Hi Cyberhiker,

I have a FlowerPower which i use to monitor my garden, but it seems the IFTTT channel doesnt work correctly.

Any chance you have some test code for this? or even plan to get to work on this.
I just want some automation to detect when my plants need water.

Thanks!

So Parrot have now stopped support for this… I see that someone has integrated the device with openhab… although my link is a bug report, i believe it is working https://github.com/openhab/openhab1-addons/issues/2057

Is anyone working on an integration into HA? My will is strong but my skills are poor :pensive:

Hello together. I have my home assistant nicely set up with several plant sensors (Xiaomi flora) but have some old Parrot Flower Power (~8 pc) lying around. Some of them don’t report water levels any more, but light sensors are working fine. I hope that direct access might revive them, but I don’t know how to approach this project.
Therefore my question out to the community:
Has anybody managed to include Parrot Flower Power plant sensors into Home assistant via MAC address or MQTT?
Thanks for your support and sharing of hints.

There was somethig on openhab for this, but don’t think it exists for Home Assistant…

Hello, sorry to raise again this post. I wanted to know if someone has progressed on this point. Thank you.

I made a custom_component, but I understand now why people don’t want to use this. It seems they change the interface between new firmware versions. I have version 2.0.3
I found document for BLE interface, but I think it’s for versio1 firmware’s. My device does have all values and I’m not sure how some values are calculated. Even my phone app does not show soil moisture any more, so what is the use of this meter anymore?

100% positive that phone app shows calibrated air temperature.

Last value should be Calibrated Daily Light Integral, but my phone app shows 1800 lux. Besides, app shows luxes but the actual values should be mol/m2/d. It might be possible that the last value is actually moisture, but have to observe it for a while to be sure.

I already bought Xiaomi sensors. I ported this Flower Power just to test if it works anymore.

I letting this sensor go, the values are not reasonable. Soil Moisture still remains 0%.

FlowerPower_DLI FlowerPower_Cal_DLI

Cal DLI and DLI do something, but I don’t know what. When I have time, I’ll release this custom_component in my GitHub, so maybe somebody else can give it a try.

It seems to measuring light intensity properly because this is from Xiaomi sensor

In Github as promised. No warranties!

Hi
The link to Parrot is not available, no access.
Can you provide the documents instead?
Best regards
