When at home, despite using an external URL/NAT loopback, HA performance on a Mac mini with a 480 Mbps (d/l anyway) line is pleasing (on 0.104.3). However, ever since the beginning I’ve had hangs when outside my home, frequently resulting in half-loaded pages with unloaded custom components as shown in the photo. This does seems to happen more frequently when I don’t have a full five bars of cell signal, but this isn’t consistent, and I’m having a hard time pinning down the issue. It doesn’t seem like the amount of data HA shares with a cell phone (mostly the iOS app) would be substantial, but I can’t help but wonder if It could be my upload speed or the reliability of the ISP’s connection (Spectrum, aka Time Warner). Does anyone have any general input on this issue?
I have spectrum, 104.3, iOS 13. Only difference is that I run on a nuc w/ i5 16gb ram. I have ~10mb/s upload. Nat didn’t need to be set on my router, just naturally did it. Everything works great for me. No issues. I’d start by looking at your router or your pc hardware.
Thanks Petro- sounds like it might be my router. The server is a newish Mac Mini w/ an Intel i5 and 16GB of RAM which has been quite speedy since I got it. This ASUS on the other hand… it’s a new one but has been a little glitchy since I got it (albeit improving with each firmware update).
Don’t know much about macs so I can’t really say. Not sure how good HA’s performance is on mac.
For anyone that comes across this, the problem was Swiper card. I removed them all (I had several) and performance improved dramatically.
