Hey all, new on the site, but have HA installed and a few devices connected. It’s soon to be moved into “production” use in our new house.

I’m not certain if this is the official, or best way to request a new component. If not, just point out where to do that.

My fiance bought a Pet Cube. I searched here and did not find posts or requests on it. It is basically a camera that can be viewed remotely. It also has motion detection and can automatically take pictures/record video, and a microphone. Pretty much like generic security cameras. They also have the ability to spit out treats, or a laser pointer that can be controlled remotely.

I saw it and thought the camera and motion detection would be great to add to Home Assistant. Any developers looking into this, or want to?

Edit: just read the stickied post. I need to add some info. Will edit again, but the vendor’s site is https://petcube.com/

Edit2: I couldn’t find an API, but I have emailed their senior backend developer (thanks google) asking about it. I’ll update this if I find anything.

I setup Petcube with my Alexa account then used bespoken.io to tell Alexa to “tell petcube fling treat” using a shellscript. Linked the shellscript to script, scene, MQTT button, automation, etc in HA. Our dogs love it.

I’ve asked support for API access with no response, just more surveys on how I what version of subscription I would prefer to pay for. I think they need to make more money before they’re ready to make API public :wink:

The device has ssh port open, which really tempts me to take it apart and disseminate their secrets. Host is https://api.petcube.com
