Brand new to Home Assistant.
I have a lot of smart devices but not all in one place which can be a pain sometimes.
It would be nice to be able to check on which one of multiple pets is coming and going and when and be able to shut the door when they are in.
It’s made by petsafe and Wi-Fi controlled so I would be surprised if noone has looked at this previously.
Any suggestions or assistance would be appreciated
There is a petsafe integration for their feeders and litter boxes, have you tried setting up the integration to see if it will recognize your smart door? If it doesn’t see it, have you tried setting up the smart door in SmartLife or Tuya to see if it recogizes it there?
The Petsafe App provides everything you are wanting/asking for. But I understand wanting to integrate it into HAss. I inquired with an agent at Petsafe to get a bit more background on what the app can do. Here’s what they had to say:
There are 4 modes - Smart Mode, Full Access Mode, and In-Only Mode and Out-Only Mode. They can only be set manually by the user, and cannot be automated to switch between each other.
Smart mode means the door is always locked and can only open/close using the keys permissions you have setup for it.
Full Access mode (aka door is always unlocked), does not track/utilize the keys permissions, so you wouldn’t be able to lock the door once all pets are inside automatically - for 2 reasons; it’s not tracking them, and you have to manually switch over to smart mode or in-only mode using the app.
Each key (tag) can be setup with specific permissions independently of each other. This is helpful differentiating when one pet can go outside and keeping others inside.
And notifications can be enabled for each key, to advise each time a pet exits or returns.
