Philips Contact Sensor integration Zigbee ZHA

at the moment my Sonoff Zigbee USB dongle in Homeassistant does not recognise the Philips Hue Door / WIndows Sensor, the name is Contactsensor. I have also the motion sensor off Philips which is recognised but the contact sensor is not.
Can this be implemented?

Hello surfertje,

Look at ZHA. to see if your device is supported or if someone has a quirk files to tide you over until it is supported assuming it is not.
If you are looking at how to use the quirks, Zigbee Guide: How-to add/setup local custom ZHA Device Handlers (also known as ”quirks”) in the ZHA integration.
Has a discussion about it…

Just wondering, did you end up using it with ZHA?
I wrote the quirk for it but I can see excessive battery drain at the moment on one of my device. Wondering if it’s my device or my quirk causing issue.

Please refrain from cross-posting

Could you clarify the reason why this is cross posting?

I see your point of view, but I’d ask why revive a post that’s pushing 10 months old with no activity.

Your opinion and experience definitely matters, I just think it’s best to keep things relative considering how quickly devices evolve with Home Automaton. Model #s aren’t conveyed and it’s impossible to compare Apples to Apples. That thread was revived from 2023 now again in 2025…

There is no correlation between the battery drain and the device sleepiness since it’s how Philips Hue battery devices usually behaves except for remote controls.

I could agree that an opinion is not what’s most productive in this forum but wanted to bring a perspective on why the price might seem high, highlighting qualities of the device people might not see without purchasing it.

There is no correlation between this post and the other outside of the device itself and the time frame of my replies. The device is the same, the SOC001, as there has been only one in their portfolio, Philips seem to have struggled to bring it to all markets which is why this old post is probably still relevant as some markets just got the device.

How would one know this without or conversation?

This was your point in the other post. That’s all I was highlighting, consolidate the info so folks searching in the future get all the info in one thread vs two…
