Hi everyone,

Real noob here to this.

I have been wanting to setup Dynalite through Google Home for quite some time. What’s my easiest method of setup? I tried setting up Hass.io on my local PC but struggled, will i need to purchase a raspberry pi?

Yes you need a bridge, If you have already the PDEG then use it. Otherwise you need to buy the one @uzelac referred to or similar

There is a switch, boolean if i rememver correctly in config which you need to toggle to true and it will work.
It’s a bit laggy but it works.

BTW.
If you have IP -> RS485 gateway, that is all the hardware you need to connect with Dynalite software…

Thank you, I have checked it and as you said it is laggy. about Dynalite software I always get bad packet in the log. Sometimes it gives the correct packet. If you have tried a gateway that works please let me know or maybe my configuration is not correct, I have posted my configuration up if you would like to take a look.

I dont have any issues with EP, it is easier with PDEG but still works with 10x cheaper IP-485 gateway.

Is it still laggy? I’m in the process of building and need to choose between Dynalite and C-bus. I’m hoping that Dynalite will be nice and fast with HA

Yes, it is still laggy, I purchased another bridge and I will check if the issue is for that. It wont update the states as expected when the button is pushed physically.

Hey All,

I’m finding that several times I’ve got to tell hass the same command twice for it to respond, then once it’s “awake” it’s fine do you know if any poll or keep alive parameters to stop this as in hass loveface cards or on google home using nabu casa it just doesn’t respond first go, second go and for a couple of hours fine then goes sleeping again

I have both chinese i recommended and genuine Philips.
No difference, both work the same.

I’ve just setup the PDEG and it works for turning lights on/off from HA with no latency. The issue I’ve got is that when you change a light status from a physical switch, it doesn’t update the status in HA.

Does this happen for you or do you get 2-way sync?
