Philips Hue bridge 2.0

Searched the forum but did not find an answer, does HASS work good with philips bridge 2.0 or should i buy the first version of it?

Or even just philips bulbs without a bridge should work with hass?

bridge 2.0 is hard to come buy yet in Russia, from what I googled so far, it costs quite a lot, while old 1.0 started kits are not that expensive…

btw, i’ve got my hands on raspberry pi 3 as some people here suggested, it’s quite a fun little thing, thanks, i guess ill launch hass from it, and my voice assistant from some windows or linux x86 (not arm) based NAS (or Zotac Zbox R rather), along with other servers… Should be quite fun, haha

Both are supported. I believe the only difference is the HomeKit support in gen 2.

Also, though not directly HA related, scene support in Echo only works with 2.0.

The way around this however is to use IFTTT; you can activate scenes from the Hue app with an IFTTT trigger. But it will only work with scenes created in the v2 version of the Hue App.

If you don’t need Homekit support, stick with the 1.0 and you’ll be fine.
