Philips hue bridge to control other brand lights?

Hi.

I have a denon dj controller that has integrated philips hue light control. Is it feasible and/or possible to get a single philips hue bridge and somehow get the light controls from it (ie. Mqtt) and broadcast to other rgb lights that i have throughout my house.

I did a quick googling but didn’t find any answers to this exact topic.

Hue lamps and bulbs are way too expensive to dedicate just for this single usecase

Thanks

I don’t think so. The Denon DJ controller connects with the Hue bridge via wi-fi; the Hue bridge controls the lights via Zigbee.

If your other “RGB lights” are Zigbee you might be able to do away with the Hue bridge and control them all directly with one of the Zigbee integrations, but you would also need an integration for the Denon DJ controller - I can’t find one.

Is this actually a Home Assistant question?

Thanks for the reply.

I have home assistant running most of my lighting (tuya) through sonoff zigbee bridge with zigbee2mqtt, maybe i’ll try getting one hue bridge and bulb at some point to sniff the commands. From there on it should hopefully just be converting and relaying them forwards.

There seems to be a github project called hue2mqtt that could be if not THE, at least part of the solution.

I’ll keep this topic updated as soon as i get the time to tinker with hue ecosystem.
