I have many Hue lights connected to a Hue Bridge that is integrated into HA but also into a Beckhoff PLC and the Amazon Alexa system. Some of these lights (all in the same Hue group) are turning off randomly and in the HA logbook, it seems like HA was not the cause because there is no “triggered by service XYZ” next to the “turned off”. How can I find out what’s turning off those lights?
They only turn off randomly, they work fine otherwise and can be turned on immediately again using a Hue dimmer switch or HA.
If you don’t find any other cause/effect you can resolve, try resetting the affected bulbs to factory default.
I had a few Hue PAR ceiling lights that would randomly turn on. They were hosted in different hubs/platforms over time, and while they were reset several times, they weren’t fully factory reset. I ended up factory resetting them (remove from socket, put back, reset with Hue dimmer), as well as nearby lights that weren’t acting up. I had ‘reset’ them so many times before, I began to think it was a wiring or fixture issue. But I did factory reset routine about 4-5 months ago, and they have’t acted up since.
