Hello all. Be warned…I’m pretty new to Home Assistant so I apologize if I’m missing something simple. I am running Home Assistant 0.113.3 as a docker container managed through portainer on my Synology NAS. I have all of my applicable integrations running smoothly, SmartThings; Plex; Synology; Unifi; etc… but for some reason I cannot get my pihole to connect. Please take a look at the attached screenshots for the errors.
My pihole is also running as a docker container but it is installed though macvlan network configs as outlined in this guide https://servicemax.com.au/tips/pi-hole-in-docker-on-synology-the-best-way/
giving pihole it’s own ip address to avoid any conflicts. It is working as intended and I have not had any issues accessing it… I’ll spare the screenshots.
I have searched and tried every other suggestion I could find which has already been discussed, changing port to 4685, 4865, SSL enabled/disabled, Certs, etc. I have clicked and typed pretty much every possible combo I can!
Thanks in advance
*whoops, I can only attach 1 picture as a new user. I’ll try to work another solution if I’m needed to attach more info.
Since I can’t add anymore screenshots, here are some log excerpts I copied just now. Sorry if it looks dumb… I was trying every possible combination of port, tickbox, etc.

I’m in the same boat too. I’m using docker on a debian server to run home assistant and pihole. There might be a way of fiddling around with the network setup of the pihole on docker: but it was such a pain to set up in the first place I’m reluctant to try.
As such this may well not be a home assistant issue really, more one for the overall docker implementation.
Here’s an interesting point. I had 2 pi-holes loaded via the GUI (configured and installed a couple months ago) and working fine on home assistant 2020.1, but needed to update the API key. You can’t do that via the GUI so I deleted and recreated in both configuration.yml and GUI. Neither will work now.
By the way, the 2 pi-holes are running in the standard config on 2 rpi, not in a container. Home assistant is running in a container with host networking.
I tried a bunch of diff combos as well.
