Pi3 to Pi2 swap SD Card

Hi

I have my current old .038 version running on a Pi3 i would like to put the SD crd into a Pi2 and keep my system running while i upgrade the Pi3 to the latest version (fresh start). I cant afford to have the down time other half wouldnt be happy

Will putting the sd card into the pi2 work?

It should. They are the same image.

Would this work the other way? Take the sdcard from a Pi2 and insert into Pi3 and have it work?

The Pi2 and Pi3 should be using the same image so it shouldn’t matter which way you go, if it’s the same image.
