I am trying to use picotts for my new HASSio install to keep everything local, but my logs say that pico2wave is missing.
It looks like there is no package manager on this image, so how does one actually use Pico with HASSio?
I found an unanswered request here, which looks similar:
I’m setting up a tts service on my hass instance. I tested it in 0.35 with the Google service, and it worked fine. Having the opportunity to get rid of an internet-dependent service, I’ld like to switch to picotts now that 0.36 has been released.
However, the Docker image doesn’t have the required dependency:
17-01-15 22:46:20 ERROR (Thread-11) [homeassistant.components.tts.picotts] 'pico2wave' was not found
17-01-15 22:46:20 ERROR (MainThread) [homeassistant.components.tts] Error setting up p…
Is this just not supported? If so, are there docs on the Home Assistant features that actually work with HASSio?
I cant help, but I would love a way to use this with hassio as well… +1

How to install pico tts on the “default” hassio installation with hassos?
google tts is not working, I would try other tts engines.
Yea! Unbelievable!
Is picotts really missing in hassio? I can’t get it to work! My old setup (Debian based) worked easily. Also hassio wants the time from google (wtf? local control?) How can I switch to my local NTP server?
Thank’s
just cross posting, have the same question here:
Since I switched to hassio on top of raspbian I solved at least the ntp thing and I can use the DS3231 like it is expected to.
But I have no luck getting picotts (also named pico2wave) working. For various reasons I don’t like to tell big brother what to tell me…
The error message is the following:
‘pico2wave’ was not found
01:23 PM components/picotts/tts.py (ERROR)
How would it be possible for ha to reach my picotts in raspbian from it’s docker
