PIR Motion sensor not working

Hi

Yesterday I received these 2 PIR non-LUX sensors I’ve orderded from Aliexpress

I’ve hold the reset button for 3 seconds and after a while it connected with zigbee router.
All fine, the device shows up in the HA interface.

But somehow, nothing after that works.
For the purpose of testing, I’ve put the sensor in a empty room. Came back 30min later, I do see the red light blink once, so it’s noticing my presence, but it’s not communicated and/or seen by HA

In the log the PIR sensor is sending data, but somehow ZHA isn’t processing/ignore it?

Did I just order a crap sensor that doesn’t follow the zigbee rules? Or maybe the wrong product, because the automation thinks it’s a smoke detector

Yes, that’s exactly the one. I tried to find it in the supported devices, but somehow the links they provided to Aliexpress either are deadlinks or have a different boxing

Oke, so I have to order one that is supported bij ZHA.
The feature request you’re pointing is from 2021 and last response was 2022 and still not implemented. I don’t think they will implemented it somewhere soon

Well, “they” likely do not have enough information (or interest) to implement it. If it works with Z2M, there is no reason it won’t work with ZHA.
If you don’t plan to do anything with them, I’ll be more than happy to get one to see what can be done…

Well, I really wish I could help, but my Python knowledge is low (I’m a PHP programmer)
But still, if it works in Z2M it shouldn’t be that difficult to make it work in ZHA

I ordered 2 of these sensors, if you want I can send you one so you can debug it

Are you in the EU?
Otherwise, it’s probably not worth the hassle/price to send the PIR. I’ll just buy one one of those days.

Yes, I live in the NL, so sending to Belgium shouldn’t be a big deal (around ~E10)

From AliExpress they also cost E10,05 (for me) And above E10 they deliver it in 12 days (fast delivery)

I have these, they look exactly the same but different zigbee model, they work with ZHA and they blink blue when there is motion. I guess you can buy from a store that does not offer the lux option.
The store no longer exist.

My sensors looks the same as others but it seems to me that they are not the same. I integrated them with z2m.

Yeah, not worth the re-shipping.
I bet your model is without “bright lux” (whatever that means)?

Not sure how to separate them apart, they look very similar

Yes, I have the non-lux version
I think the other one also signals if light brightness goes up or something? Couldn’t find anything in the specifications about it

All of my Tuya ZigBee PIR, ZigBee mmwave radar and ZigBee window/door switches stopped updating the corresponding sensors in HA a few days ago, many people are reporting the same.

Hope it will be fixed soon.

Ironically, I have a few sonoff ZigBee PIR connected to my Tuya gateway and they still work fine.

Did you by chance order and/or have any time too look into this sensor?
If not, all fine, maybe I will give it a chance myself or I need to order the other version that HA supports
