I am approaching first electrical fix and need to position terminations for sensor power. I currently don’t have the space nor hardware to test my mmWave sensor plan. I am hoping you can comment on if this might work or not.
Alongside these mmWave sensors I will have various PIR (by doors etc) and they will all be used to trigger automated lights.
Here’s what I have so far. It is built on the assumptions that mmWave sensors using different frequencies can overlap their mmWave projection areas, and that 500mm stone wall will mostly block the mmWaves. I am unsure how true these assumptions are irl.
I have drawn these images using what I can glean as the azimuth field of view for each sensor.
Three Aqara FP2
This first image shows three Aqara FP2.
The FP2 uses 64GHz. I now add two Everything Presence Lite which use 24GHz.
FP2 + EPLite
I now add a Sonoff snzb-06p which uses 5GHz.
FP2 + EPLite + Sonoff
FP2 + EPLite + Sonoff with masking
Same as above except taking into account the blocking of mWaves by the 500mm stone walls.
What do you think, OK plan, terrible plan? Could it be better?
Thanks.
