Please help setting up SLZB-06M "newbie"

Hi HA wizzards!

Looking to get Zigbee (ZHA) coverage in my garage I bought a SLZB-06M. Reviews were pretty much plug and play so I went for it. I am currently running a USB Sky Connect to my HA green.

The truth is different! :smiley: I have an ethernet cable in my garage that connects to my router so I thought it was gonna be easy. Is nothing like the videos.

So couple of questions:

-Easier to connect the SLZB-06m as a coordinator or router. I want the easiest way, as I will be adding just a couple of devices to my HA.

-I tried setting it up in both configurations but I must be doing everything wrong. I can not make it work in any of configuration.

To start with, when I open home assistant I see this integration and not the standard ZHA window that everyone else seems to be getting.

Seems like you’re already running ZHA with another ZigBee coordinator. If that’s the case, you can’t add your SLZB-06m as a coordinator. 1 ZigBee instance=1 coordinator.

You’ll need to flash the new SLZB-06m with router firmware, then pair it just like any other ZigBee device.

Thanks, will try that now but can the router mode be setup through ethernet?

Nice! somehow it is working now in router mode! Thanks a lot for your help! I think I also needed a reboot of the SLZB-06m…

This integration is not needed then? It is working without it…

I don’t know mate. Don’t own one myself.

You can always ignore it for now. It’ll be in the list of ignored integrations should you change your mind.
