Please stop this madness

I really love Home Assistant and especially ESPHome (which was the main reason to go the HA route) and I really like to financially support the project but now I am really fed up with the update frequency of ESPHome. Almost daily updates is a NO-GO for me - I have to spend almost two hours to update all my devices and please keep in mind that flash memory can only be erased/written so many times. Please, please learn how to plan updates so we have only an update weekly or monthly (except security and important bugfix updates). Just collect fixes and new devices and put them together in one weekly or monthly update. I assume I am speaking on behalf of many user that we don’t need that high update frequency. I just don’t have the time for it anymore. Please!

Thanks for reading,
Dieter

YOU DO NOT NEED TO UPDATE JUST BECAUSE A NEW UPDATE IS AVAILABLE.

Please, please learn that you can update ESPHome as infrequently as you like. It is very rare for an update to be necessary unless you’re using new hardware. I update every six months or so when I think about it.

No you dont.

100,000 times minimum. That’s 281 years of daily updates. Non issue.

The release cycle is monthly. Just update once at the end of the month if it bothers you that much.
