Try setting video quality to original on devices to prevent transcoding.
You can also try lower video resolution if transcoding as this use less resources on server(full HD on 6" screen is not needed…320kbps looks good)
I’m in the process of buying new server(think I may attempt custom build) and disabled Plex so I cant confirm this changes with sync
When I first started ripping DVD I used avi format. Upon using Plex I found this was bad idea because all avi required transcode.
I created script and converted all avi to mp4 (mp4 can play without transcode)…After that server performance improved
Maybe change index setting to prevent the performance issues.
Set to “only when changes detected”. I never really had issue with this however
