Plugwise USB/Stick beta

Please create an Issue with the header [Feature Request] ....

Done, #250

And again a update. To be honest you guys saved my day in reusing all the circles i have. Unfortanaly i’ve got not enough spare time to test all the time but never the less where i can i will.
I realise that the development of you guys must take quite some time which a lot of people take for granted so my question is can i donate the project?

I’ve got a few new circles to test the joining sequence but how do I after reset “Next, you can execute the enable_auto_joining service”

The correct sequence is:

  • Reset the Circle via 3s in - 3s out - 3s in - 3s out - 8s in - out
  • In HA Plugwise_usb-beta integration press Enable auto-joining on the Circle + page
  • Put the reset Circle into a power-socket

The Circle should join automatically.

I don’t know how many Circles can be added after a single Enable auto-join press.

Aha, i missed this “In HA Plugwise_usb-beta integration press Enable auto-joining on the Circle + page” part!
Also my reset routine was slightly different will change that and test

I have tested auto-join with 6 Circles and they all joined instantly in one go.
moving over some circles from network based Stretch to USB Plug to be able to support a wider physical area.

Plugwise USB beta v0.58.1 is available.

When you are curious about the details, have a look here:

Is there a way to get this working on an HA Green device? I previously used an RPI, but it was very unstable for me. So I switched to the Green device, but I still haven’t been able to get Plugwise running on it.

I also haven’t found the option to install Custom Components yet, even though I’m on the beta channel.
Could someone point me in the right direction?

I think you need to install HACS first.

Go here and scroll down and read How to install: GitHub - plugwise/plugwise_usb-beta: Custom-component / development version of the USB Plugwise Home Assistant platform

Alternative if you have access to the HA config folder, create a structure like this:

Focus on the plugwise_usb directory, the other directories each contain a different custom_component.
Download the zipped source code from the latest release from the github shown above and put the files in the plugwise_usb directory.
Then restart HA and add the Plugwise_usb beta integration.

Using HACS is better, it allows you to find and install updates quite easy.

Thank you,

I totally missed the fact I am able to install hacs on HA Green. Everything is installed and I am going to test some old plugs now!

And today I noticed a update 0.58.2
So far running 0.58.1 and only issue is that circle’s get’s disconnected sometimes but eventually reconnect automatically. Very happy with this.

Another Question, how can i see which zigbee channel is used by the network?
Trying to streamline wifi, Plugwise (adam), zigbee2mqtt and plugwise circle+

Update to 0.58.2 without any strange effect or problem. Pretty well done!

Yeah the integration does not report the channel it uses.
I think I recently came across the message that contains the channel number, maybe I’ add it in the future

Wauw, that would be nice!
I noticed in the source software that it also had the option to set the default action upon power restore. Original it’s always on but it’s also possible to change that to off. Perhaps something for next, next, next release?
So fa extremely happy with Al the work. All circles work as a charm.
My next mission is to get the circle+ working via ser2net on a seperate raspberry pi.
