Plum ecoMAX pellet boiler regulator integration for Home Assistant

Hey. Hey,
I’m having trouble connecting my Plum ecoMAX to the home assistant.

Device:

  • USR-TCP232-304 ethernet converters Serial RS485 to TCP IP with DNS DHCP
  • ecoMAX860D3-HB

Settings:

Zapojení kotel(panel):

Nastavení USR-TCP232-304 - Plum ecoMAX::

I have the same problem. I can’t find the settings of this module in any way, for the norms of working with the boiler.

Is that correct connected? I think it should go to G1 D+ and D- only, or…?

Hi, developer here.

Sorry for the late response, I don’t spend a lot of time on forums and just found this topic, but as they say: better late than never :sweat:

I can confirm that ecoMAX 860D3-HB is indeed working fine with the integration, since one of the users from France successfully uses this device with similar setup.

However, judging from your diagram, it seems, that you’ve wired the adapter incorrectly.

Correct way as listed in the integration README:

===============================
USR-TCP232-304 -> G4
===============================
A -> D+
B -> D-
G -> GND (try without it first)

Than again, there’s been a lot of changes since October, so there might’ve been some issue that got fixed since then.

Hi, it seems most automated pellet boilers in Central/east Europe use plum or tech. I contacted these two plus pw key, pw key responded best, sent me rs485 spec., No BS. Now I kinda hate touchscreens everywhere, especially it does not make sense for me in the pellet boiler.

I’m now considering plum based ones as almost no one uses pw key controllers. Especially since I want combination pellet + wood.

Can I change touchscreen for non touchscreen while keeping the “base” boiler unit with all the connections?

Can the controller in boiler be changed for different brand and just connect sensors etc. That are in the boiler?

I do not understand where the ash goes when burning pellets, from the pictures it seems there is in most cases no dedicated ash container under the pellet burner.

Sorry for kinda general questions, but I’m new in world of solid fuel boilers and sellers are not much help really

Hi, I’ve tried to connect my ecoMAX 200D with the integration. I was simply hoping that it would be similar enough to ecoMAX850 and that it would work.

Unfortunately that does not seem to be the case. I get thrown error “no devices found on network” when trying to integrate .

@denpamusic, do you know if 200D has been tested and should work?

Also I am new to RS485/modbus tcp communication so highly likely that it is also human error. So a good start if it should be supported is perhaps the settings:

I am using PUSR USR-W610 for the serial to TCP with following settings:

Some additional information,
I am connecting

A to D+ (terminal 9)
B to D- (terminal 10)

Which in accordance with the documentation is S232/RS485 bus, intended för ecoSTER200.
