POE video doorbell for HA?

I am looking for POE video doorbell with two-way audio communication. I cannot find any device that has got any working integration with HA. Is it even possible to setup HA without SIP to have working two-way audio?

Have you seen doorbird dot com ?
I’ve been using one of it’s earliest models for years now and it checks all your boxes.
Their products are excellent German quality stuff, but are also quite expensive…

Ubiquity G4 Doorbell Pro model has a POE capability. But you’ll have to buy an NVR or dream machine pro to be able to use the Unifi protect platform.

I have my non-POE setup interrupt my Sonos system and play a chime inside all through HA.

There is 2 way communication, person and package detection built in. I’ve had great experience with the Protect platform, the only downside is finding available stock.

There is a subreddit called Ubiquity in stock has a robot that does stock alerts. Be prepared for like 20-50x units dropping at a time. They go quick!

I have hikvision doorbell and intercom. These are poe devices and they can be integrated with ha using frigate Downside is that doorbell camera doesn’t support coral resulting from time to time in high cpu usage.
I never set up two way video audio over ha but it should be possible. It’s on to do list.

Dahua VTO

Doorbird require Doorbird server for setup. It’s weird. I like them but cost is fairly high and the fact that I need third party for anything is annoying

Ubuiquiti doorbell is great if you have all ubuiquiti cams. If not, NO.

Hikvision is nice actually. Just Dahua has simplest setup.

Currently most good doorbell cams are like 2MP. It’s not bad but higher res would be good. That said in most scenarios you can likely add 2nd cam which I would do for good angle (for security it can help with ID or allows you to see behind the back of person hiding vs direct view of doorbell angle)

The upcoming reolink doorbell has a PoE option: Reolink Video Doorbell | Smart Wired Doorbell with Chime

The upcoming reolink doorbell has a PoE option:

This looks great - how does the integration with HASS work for the button event? Can it be used offline without cloud services?

It’s not out yet so… who knows. Likely the reolink integration will pick it up at some point

It can be used / stream offline like other reolink profucts

I see the reolink doorbell but I don’t know how good is integrated in HA.
I also see an Eufy 2k doorbell, with a unofficial very good integration, but it’s not Poe and I don’t know if available in EU (where I live).

I’m searching a video doorbell too, with wifi option, with a good integration. Eufy seems a good option.
Reolink is probably a better option ( but for me without wifi), Dahua it’s probably a better product (without wifi), hikvision has wifi but cannot be used without their monitors (if nothing changed in last months).

I just got the POE Reolink Video Doorbell, had it for about 2 weeks now. It works great especially that it’s under $100

Using the https://github.com/JimStar/reolink_cctv integration. Before I used Frigate for about a month with corel accelerator. Ended up switching completely to the reolink integration above.

You get all controls locally including motion, person detection, doorbell ding and things like last video/image for live phone notification.

It supports ONVIF so you can integrate it with pretty much anything. I also successfully integrated it with Scrypted which feeds it into HomeKit so you get live notifications, recordings, instant stream loading as well as face detection. All without using Reolink cloud.

The only thing that is missing as of right now is you can’t talk to people natively as ONVIF doesn’t support Reolink’s protocol. So you have to use the Reolink App if you want to talk back to people.
Updated 04/04/24: It’s now supported as well.

Also you can record your own messages and play them to people through Reolink App, currently, that’s not supported in the above plugin either (you have to use the app), but maybe someday later?
Updated 04/04/24: now its supported

Overall I am really happy with it, and it’s light years ahead of Ring it replaced with no subscription and local sd storage that I backup to ftp.
